It's going to be really interesting once tis scene has maybe cooled down a little bit to find the gems no one's much aware of right now, I know of several dozen titles not on IGN's list which are really good and I'd place above several of their selections, but I understand IGN hasn't played most let alone all horror games this year and probably mainly just checked out games that had a sort of 'splash' this year, which is basically what this list is. Last year and this year have so many games that have released in the horror genre it's near impossible to keep track of all of them. The problem is most people haven't played every horror game this year, hell even I haven't played close to all of them yet. On Steam alone, over 300 horror games released this year. For example, my list doesn't include too many horror games that've released on itch.io or GameJolt or anything, which also has a huge horror scene on both sites, then smaller sites like IndieDB which collects some or horror circles which pass them along. The indie horror scene is literally releasing several games a week, so much so it's hard to keep track of everything. I haven't played everything but I made this thread back in October (I want to do this yearly):

I'll respond to everything a bit later when I'm done with stuff to do today, but as said by ctw0e, the horror scene is literally booming today.
